The Michael J. Seiler Behavioral Research Commendation (decided by no less than a two-thirds [66%] vote by the ARES Executive Committee and the donor, while living) recognizes a person who has published a substantial body of behavioral related research in real estate and real estate adjacent topics in top journals, spanning at least ten years, that innovates and greatly extends behavioral research knowledge. The Kinnard Young Scholar Award (decided by a vote of no less than three fifths [60%] of the Committee) originally recognized an outstanding young real estate scholar under the age of 40, but was amended to recognize an outstanding scholar in an earlier stage of the academic career. Although it is possible that this award might recognize a single research work product, more likely it would acknowledge work that would be reflected in multiple publications for outstanding research contributions in the early years of a researcher’s career. This award is to be given annually or less frequently depending upon receipt of qualified nominations. The Committee consists of the voting members of the ARES Executive Committee.
