Our Story 

The ARES women’s caucus breakfast began as an informal networking opportunity among junior and senior level academics and professionals in the mid-2000s. In 2012, however, under the leadership of Sofia Dermisi and Jane Londerville, who had co-chaired the event for a couple of years, it was decided to create a better identify for the event with a new name. The new name was unveiled at the 2013 ARES’s annual meeting in Hawaii. From that point on, the ARES women’s caucus event became known as the Connecting-Women in Real Estate Research & Education [C-WI(RE)²] event and focused on “experience exchanges, networking opportunities, education, research and mentoring for women academics and professionals from a junior to a senior level around the globe.” The topic of the first C-WI(RE)²event was titled: “Women in Leadership Positions - Breaking Throughthe Glass Ceiling” and included a keynote speaker as well a global panel with both academics and practitioners. Although the co-chairs have changed, the event continues to grow and to attract new participants.

C‐Wi(RE)2 Breakfast and Caucus: Thursday, April 11th, 7am - 10am

How can C‐WI(RE)2 help you? Resources, opportunities, and events designed to promote the careers of women real estate.

To encourage peer networking among junior, mid-career, and senior female participants and to foster communication between junior and senior members of the profession, C‐Wi(RE)2  will organize a mentoring session following our annual breakfast. At this event, senior members (predominately senior women) are pre-assigned to one of a variety of topical tables to provide mentoring advice to early and mid-career women in areas such as research and publishing, tenure and promotion, non-academic careers, teaching, work-life balance, and the job market. Please join us for a productive networking and mentoring session!
